Live Virtual Leadership Decision Workshop
Move What Matters:The Year-End Decision Reset
Before You Plan Another Year, Decide What This Year Still Requires.
A live, facilitated Leadership Decision Reset for public-serving and mission-driven leaders with an important professional priority that has stalled, shifted, or become difficult to move forward.
Designed especially for leaders working in government, nonprofit, education, associations, healthcare, and other mission-driven environments where competing priorities, multiple stakeholders, limited capacity, and changing conditions are part of the work.
Bring one real priority. Identify the primary friction affecting its movement, make the critical decision it requires now, and leave with a focused, realistic 30-Day Movement Plan.
Your Priority May Not Need More Effort. It May Need a Decision.
There are just a few months left in the year.
Think about the professional goals and leadership priorities you set months ago.
Some may be moving.
Some may have stalled.
Some may have been pushed aside by urgent demands, competing priorities, changing conditions, or the needs of the people and organizations you serve.
And some may still matter deeply—but you are no longer clear about what to do next.
You may be asking:
- Is this still the right priority?
- What is actually getting in the way?
- Do I need more time, more support, or a different approach?
- Am I avoiding a decision that needs to be made?
- Should I keep pushing, narrow the goal, change direction, seek support, delegate, or let it go?
- What do I want to intentionally carry into the new year?
In mission-driven environments, unfinished priorities are rarely simple.
They may involve people, approvals, resources, competing commitments, changing conditions, or decisions that have become harder to see clearly because you are so close to the work.
The problem is not always motivation.
And it is not always that you need another goal, another planner, or another productivity system.
Sometimes progress stalls because a decision has not been made.

The format
A Working Session for the Priority You Cannot Keep Carrying the Same Way.
Move What Matters is a 1-hour, 45-minute Live Virtual leadership decision workshop designed to help you work through one important professional goal or priority before entering another year.
You will not spend the session listening to a lecture about productivity or taking notes on generic leadership advice.
You will work on one real priority—identify the primary friction affecting its movement, make the decision it requires now, and turn that decision into a focused, realistic 30-Day Movement Plan.
The workshop creates the conditions to do that work well: protected time, a structured process, facilitated guidance, and thoughtful peer perspective.
Maybe it is:
- a strategic initiative that keeps getting pushed behind urgent work;
- a professional goal that still matters but has lost traction;
- a team or organizational priority you cannot seem to move;
- a conversation or decision you know needs to happen;
- or a commitment you need to decide whether to continue carrying at all.
Through structured reflection, facilitated guidance, and peer feedback, you will examine what is actually happening, identify the primary friction affecting movement, make the decision it requires, and translate that decision into focused action.
This workshop is not:
- A productivity lecture
- A generic goal-setting seminar
- A webinar where you collect notes
- A push to cram more activity into year-end
- Someone else telling you what decision to make
This workshop is:
- A facilitated leadership decision-to-action working session
- A reset for one real professional goal or priority
- A structured process for identifying the primary friction affecting movement
- Protected space to focus on work that deserves more than fragmented attention
- Facilitated guidance and thoughtful peer perspective to help you test your thinking
- A way to make the decision and turn it into a realistic 30-Day Movement Plan
Goals and priorities gain traction when the decisions behind them are clear and the friction in front of them is addressed.
The Movement Filter
The Movement Filter
DECIDE → MOVE → RECALIBRATE
The Movement Filter is a practical leadership decision process for identifying the primary friction affecting an important priority, making the critical decision it requires, and turning that decision into focused action.
It is designed to help you answer three questions:
What needs to be decided?
What needs to move next?
What will tell me whether it is working?
DECIDE
What is actually holding this priority up?
Bring the priority that keeps showing up on your list, in your notes, or in the back of your mind.
You will look closely at what has changed, where the friction is showing up, what assumptions may need to be tested, and what decision may still be unresolved.
That could mean recognizing that the priority needs more support.
It could mean narrowing the scope.
It could mean having a conversation you have postponed.
It could mean deciding that the goal still matters—but the original approach no longer does.
Or it could mean giving yourself permission to stop carrying something that no longer deserves your attention.
You leave DECIDE with:
A clearer answer to:
What am I going to do about this priority now?
MOVE
What needs to happen next—not someday, but next?
Once the decision is clearer, you will turn it into a focused 30-Day Movement Plan.
Not a long strategic plan.
Not another list of intentions.
A practical plan that helps you know what happens next.
You should leave knowing things such as:
- what conversation needs to happen;
- what email needs to be sent;
- what meeting needs to be scheduled;
- what support needs to be requested;
- what task needs to be delegated;
- or what first move you are prepared to make.
You leave MOVE with:
A focused 30-Day Movement Plan with clear first moves and the support needed to begin moving it forward.
RECALIBRATE
How will you know whether the decision is producing movement?
Leadership conditions change.
A good decision process has to make room for that.
You will identify a simple, low-friction way to check whether the priority is actually moving—and recognize when something needs to change.
This is not another reporting system or administrative burden.
It is a brief way to ask:
Is this moving?
What has changed?
What do I need to do differently now?
You leave RECALIBRATE with:
A practical way to stay connected to the priority without continually starting over.
The goal is not to create another system to maintain. It is to help you adjust as conditions change without losing sight of the decision and priority you chose to move.
The goal is not to squeeze more activity into the final months of the year.
The goal is to make a clearer decision—and know what you are going to do next.
Only 12 leaders will participate.
Sometimes You Are Too Close to the Problem to See It Clearly.
There is a reason people say:
“You can’t see the label from inside the jar.”
Leaders spend much of their time responding, solving, carrying responsibility, and making decisions for others.
That can make it difficult to step back and see their own situation objectively.
This workshop gives you protected space to think.
It is designed to create conditions that are often missing in daily leadership work: enough distance to see the issue more clearly, enough structure to identify the real friction, and enough support to make a decision you can translate into action.
You will have opportunities to:
- Test your thinking
- Receive facilitated guidance from Carolyn
- Hear thoughtful questions and feedback from other leaders
- Consider perspectives you may not have seen from inside the situation
No one else will make the decision for you.
The purpose is to help you see the situation more clearly so you can make the decision only you can make.
Why Only 12 Leaders?
Because participation is part of the value.
Move What Matters is intentionally designed as a small-group experience for leaders working in environments where decisions often involve competing priorities, stakeholders, limited resources, and real consequences.
A group of 12 creates room to:
- think rather than simply listen;
- ask and receive meaningful questions;
- test assumptions;
- hear relevant peer perspective;
- and receive active facilitation from Carolyn.
The goal is for you to leave having worked on your priority—not simply having heard someone talk about it.
This Workshop Is for Leaders Who…
- Are carrying an important professional priority that has stalled, shifted, or become unclear
- Keep revisiting an issue without creating meaningful movement
- Need to decide whether to continue, narrow, change, delegate, seek support for, or let go of a goal
- Are navigating competing priorities, constant urgency, limited capacity, multiple stakeholders, or changing conditions
- Want facilitated guidance and thoughtful peer feedback without giving up ownership of the decision
- Need to enter the new year with clearer priorities and a realistic next move
- Lead in government, nonprofit, education, associations, healthcare, public service, or other mission-driven environments
You do not need to arrive with a perfect goal statement or fully developed plan.
You only need to bring one professional priority that matters enough to examine honestly.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Why This Matters Beyond You
Leadership decisions rarely stop with the leader.
A delayed decision can delay someone else’s work.
An unclear priority can create confusion for a team.
An unresolved issue can keep resources, opportunities, services, or important work from moving.
There is someone waiting on the other side of every leadership decision.
That is why clarity matters.
Getting clear about your own priorities strengthens more than your individual effectiveness.
It strengthens the way you lead, communicate, prioritize, decide, and follow through for the people who depend on you.
Before You Plan Another Year, Decide What This Year Still Requires.
You do not have to accomplish everything before December 31.
But you can decide what still matters.
What needs to change.
And what you are prepared to do next.
